T-Armor Series™ Adds Performance, Installation Ease and Design Flexibility to New or Existing Roofs
LOUISVILLE, KY…Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation, the nation’s leader in metal roof and wall systems, introduces its newest product offering: the T-Armor Series™ Structural Standing Seam Roof System.
The T-Armor Series uses Metal Sales’ concealed clip design to allow for a sustainable, cost-effective and practical roofing panel system for new construction or retrofit. To achieve this level of performance, Metal Sales has implemented its unique sealed seam cap into the T-Armor Series. The sealed seam cap design has several advantages over the standard interlocking leg system, allowing for multi-directional panel installation, simple replacement of a damaged panel and provides superior weather tightness.
The T-Armor Series also offers an optional continuous concealed clip, specifically designed for roofs that are frequently exposed to high winds and heavy environmental loads. The clip can extend the full length of the panel or may be used only on specific areas of the roof. The continuous clip design creates an increased area of contact for panel-to-clip engagement, allowing the roof system to bear heavier loads and strengthen its wind uplift resistance. This clip design also allows for complete thermal expansion and contraction of roofing panels reducing risk of oil canning, and giving the system a tight weather seal that lasts for several decades.
Metal Sales has earned a renewed Declare Label through June 2015. Declare is an ‘ingredients label’ program for building products operated by the International Living Future Institute (the Institute). Declare aims to provide transparency and open communication by allowing manufacturers to voluntarily share their product sources, materials and manufacturing locations.
Metal Roof and Wall Panels Help Achieve LEED® Gold Certification
LOUISVILLE, KY… Metal Sales™ metal roof and wall panels outfit the LEED® Gold certified Jim Beam American Stillhouse and Distillery in Clermont, KY. The Stillhouse showcases Jim Beam’s bourbon-making process by hosting tours in a sustainable and visually appealing facility.
The facility’s design unites Jim Beam’s family tradition, company history and commitment to sustainability with more than 31,000 square feet of Metal Sales products.
“The metal wall and roof panels gave us the look we wanted for the Stillhouse,” said Clark Barnette, AIA at Barnette Bagely Architects who served as architects of the Stillhouse. “There are several traditional rickhouses on the property and the corrugated panels allowed us to match the existing buildings.”
The LEED Gold project project recycled 25% of building materials and diverted more than 80% of the construction materials from landfills. Other sustainable features include occupancy sensors and control panels with built-in timers to regulate lighting throughout the facility to save energy. Low-flow water fixtures reduce water usage by 50% annually in the Stillhouse.
“Metal roof and wall panels are great building materials,” says Barnette. “They offer supreme durability, a unique look and are sustainable thanks to their recyclability.”
Transit-Oriented Development Project Utilizes Metal Panels
LOUISVILLE, KY… Metal Sales™ roof and wall panels balance the old and new at the AB&W Building at 157 Washington Street in Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood. The former auto showroom and candy factory site was redeveloped as a mixed-use building with retail and housing units.
The transformed AB&W Building is located one block from the new Four Corners commuter rail station. It consists of 3,300 square feet of commercial space for three retail tenants and 24 affordable rental cooperative housing units. The historic 1920s brick façade was preserved for the retail storefront while the remainder of the original building was demolished.
Metal Sales supplied more than 6,000 square feet of 2.5” Corrugated, 26 gauge metal roof and wall panels in a MS Colorfast45® finish with a vibrant Patriot Red color. The panels adorn both the front and rear façade of the building.
LOUISVILLE, KY…A Metal Sales™ roof system has been chosen to top an ambitious Net-Zero building. Ronda and Nigel Farrar chose to work with Metal Sales on their new 3,000-square-foot home in Escondido, CA. The home overlooks beautiful Lake Hodges and was designed to be a model for green design by utilizing the latest commercially available green building products.
The Farrars are the owners of the new home and its surrounding sustainable farm. The home is one of San Diego County’s first LEED® Platinum homes and is ENERGY STAR® qualified. Their dream of achieving a Net-Zero energy design was realized with help from Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation.
