Free cab rides make Derby safer
Louisville Kentucky: Early Times Mint Julep, the Official Drink of the Kentucky Derby, and Yellow Cab are teaming up to offer vouchers for safe rides at select locations in Louisville during Kentucky Derby week in an effort to encourage people to plan ahead to keep drunk drivers off the roads. A specially designed Kentucky Derby – themed taxi will be in various areas of town. You’ll be asked to sign the taxi as your personal pledge to drink responsibly, and then you’ll receive a taxi voucher valued at $15, which you can redeem toward a safe ride home Derby weekend.
In celebrations of Kentucky Derby 140, there will be 140 tax vouchers offered at nine bars in two locations.
• Wednesday — St. Matthews corridor centered on Shelbyville Road near Breckenridge Lane, from 7-11 p.m.
• Thursday — Fourth Street Live! from 6-11 p.m.
Each voucher may be used with Yellow Cab, or with sister companies Checker Cab and Cardinal Cab. All vouchers must be redeemed by midnight on Sunday, May 18. Users must be at least 21, and the offer is good only while the vouchers last.
