Metal Sales Wins 2013 Chairman’s Award at METALCON
LOUISVILLE, KY… Metal Sales™ received the prestigious 2013 Chairman’s Award for Overall Excellence from the Metal Construction Association (MCA) at the METALCON International conference. Metal Sales was recognized for the innovative use of materials on the new Maricopa Campus of Central Arizona College.
Metal Sales provided 90,000 square feet of 18”, 22-gauge Magna-Loc standing seam roof panels and 24,000 square feet of 14-gauge Cor-Ten weathering steel sheets for the primary wall enclosure.

The Chairman’s Awards are an annual designation given to outstanding building projects involving MCA member companies. The awards honor innovation and creativity while showcasing how metal products help achieve exceptional building designs.
Metal Sales was selected as the Overall Excellence award winner out of a field of 92 notable projects submitted for consideration. An independent panel of architects assessed and weighed the merits of each project. Chief considerations included overall appearance, significance of metal in achieving overall project objectives and innovative use of metal. The panel of judges also selected this project for its intentionally simple and natural use of metal.
The Maricopa Campus of Central Arizona College was completed in April 2013.
