Home/Metal Sales/Update: New Tax Credit For Residential Metal Roofs

Update: New Tax Credit For Residential Metal Roofs

  • Posted On 23 Mar 2016
Homeowners can receive a tax credit of 10% of the cost, up to $500, for Metal Sales metal roof panels installed on their principal residence. The deduction applies to roofs installed between January 1, 2011, and December 31, 2016. With Metal Sales, environmental efficiency goes hand-in-hand with financial efficiency.
From the Metal Roofing Alliance:
“As reported at the recent MRA annual meeting, the U.S. government approved a $500 tax credit for qualifying residential metal roofs installed in 2015 and 2016. This provides a new marketing opportunity for the residential metal roofing industry, as this is the first time in several years that the tax credit isn’t just retroactive, but is guaranteed for the current year.”
